Hi Dancers and friends! I have gotten to do some fun things lately, outside my usual stuff. My daughter, 9, has started performing in some shows with me, and a couple other kids, too. (The list of ‘usual stuff’ is below- classes, workshops and shows coming up) I was in a fashion show, modeling for Naomi Davidoff who presented her line at the BSU charity show at MICA: http://cargocollective.com/ndavidoff/Cirque-Squelettique I also performed in a variety show with burlesque dancers in the same show, another first for me. It was really, really fun. There is some powerful psychology behind the way a burlesque stage is built. The stage was at chest height and cut diagonally through the room, long. Lots of lights, and mirrors where the dancer sees, above the heads of the patrons. Designed to make you feel like a star, ‘above’ the hoi polloi... I liked it so much I am going to produce a variety show there, August 31st. I think I’ll skip the burlesque, though. ;-)

I get to step outside the box again with the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. They are putting on a show set at.... wait for it, bellydancers.... the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair! You know what THAT means.  So, I’m too booked with Faerie Festivals to jump fully in, but I’ll do some front of house performances for fun. They may still be looking for a “Little Egypt” character for a dancing bit in the show. (And yes, I told them “Little Egypt” wasn’t really there)
